How convenient to be able to switch from a positive ion source to a negative ion source, without changing any hardware!

Recent results with our multipurpose ECR source TES in high brightness ion mode demonstrated its bipolar capability.

Upon changing the polarity of the power supply of the source the oxygen ion beam current switched from -2 µA to +6 µA (extraction aperture of Ø0.35mm). Contact us if you’d like more information. Happy New Year!
